Nude Woman Found Crawling Up Busy Street: Cops

A Key West woman is facing charges after she was arrested twice in three days in separate naked, drug-fueled romps on public streets, according to police.

Alena Larrazabal, 32, was hospitalized after she was found stark naked crawling down a busy Stock Island street Monday afternoon by a couple of deputies, according to a Monroe County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Police say an incoherent Larrazabal was meandering on her hands and knees as cars swerved to avoid hitting her. At one point, she rolled on to her back and spread her legs before continuing her crawl, the report said.

As the deputies tried to get Larrazabal out of harm's way, she began to fight with them. With the help of some paramedics, they were able to get her strapped down to a stretcher, and she was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

When she became more coherent, Larrazabal told the deputies she'd been on a weekend-long cocaine binge, the report said. Larrazabal is facing charges of disturbing the peace and criminal mischief, the report said.

Two days before her Stock Island arrest, Larrazabal was arrested in Key West in a similar incident, according to a Key West Police report.

Police say they were responding to calls of a nude woman causing a disturbance in a restaurant parking lot shortly after 7 a.m. when they came across Larrazabal, identified that day as Alena Larrazabal Capiro, according to the report.

Police say a naked Larrazabal struggled with deputies who were trying to take her into custody, kicking and spitting at them until she was finally put into the back of a patrol car, the report said.

The officers found a bag with Larrazabal's clothing and purse, and say they found a plastic baggie with a small amount of marijuana, the report said.

When they questioned her, Larrazabal told the officers she'd been "smoking crack all night," the report said.

Larrazabal was released into the care of the Lower Keys Medical Center staff.

New major hurricane possible by weekend

As the East Coast mopped up after Hurricane Irene, a new tropical storm formed Tuesday in the Atlantic, raising the question: Is another one coming?

By 11 p.m. ET, Tropical Storm Katia's top winds had increased to 60 mph. It was jogging west at a brisk 22 mph and the U.S. National Hurricane Center said it was expected to become a hurricane by Wednesday. But beyond predicting that Katia will be a major hurricane northeast of the Caribbean's northern Leeward Islands by Sunday, the Miami-based center said it was not yet able to predict its path with certainty, or say whether it will threaten the U.S. East Coast.

"It's still well out to sea. A lot of things can happen ... We don't show it affecting any land areas for five days. Beyond that is merely speculation," NHC senior hurricane specialist Richard Pasch told Reuters.

TimeTours: Chichen Itza for iOS

TimeTours has announced v1.1 TimeTours: Chichen Itza for iOS, their revolutionary universal multimedia app that takes the viewer on a guided tour of the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza. Wrapped in a new design this version offers more information, more media and on top of that GameCenter support and two mingames. Still featured are meticulously rendered 3D stills, animations, and full-circle panoramas that allow instant comparison of the city as it appears today, versus how it looked over 900 years ago. At once a practical guide for actual tourists visiting the archaeological site in Mexico, and a doorway for virtual travelers exploring the past, the fact-filled multimedia production heralds a new age of app-based time traveler/tourist guides.

The pre-Hispanic city of Chichen Itza has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and was recently voted one of the New 7 Wonders of the world. Founded in approximately 750 AD, by 1000 AD the city had become a major center of Mayan arts, religion, politics, and commerce. A theocracy, ruled by god-like kings, the city and its temples were inhabited by high priests and aristocrats, with common people occupying small village communities in the surrounding areas.

TimeTours: Chichen Itza launches with a feature film quality 3D animation taking the user back in time to the a world of human sacrifice and a calendar that some believe will end in 2012. The opening screen introduces Alberto, a 3D professorial-looking character who acts as tour guide, and who speaks directly to the user via a dialogue text balloon.

The second tour guide is Ah Pach Uitz, an ancient Mayan tribesman dressed in traditional garb and headdress. He introduces the viewer to the full screen map of the city. As all maps, documents, and frames in the app are created on a brown, textured papyrus-like paper made from the inner bark of trees. The map contains detailed drawings of buildings, public areas, and temples, 3 marked with a human eye and 12 marked with an “X”. Designed for operation in landscape mode, touching any eye brings up a full, scrollable 360 degree panorama view created in 3D graphics. More “X”s lead to the different parts of the structure in greater detail, the bottom shows the text and the upper windows lead to fullscreen media.

Theses windows may include: a 3D still that touched, launches a full-screen 3D turntable of the structure as it existed almost a thousand years ago; a modern color photograph of a structure that expands to full screen for closer examination; a gallery of ancient pictorial art, scholarly drawings and zoomable renderings; a high resolution photo of ancient Mayan art and sculpture photographed on display in museums; one of the new minigames; a remarkable Now & Then window, that filling the screen contains a color photo of a structure as it exists today, and a horizontally (un)scrollable overlay of tree bark paper displaying a photorealistic 3D rendering of exactly the same scene, but during the city’s “Golden Age”; and an ancient map of the structures marked by the “X” shown in greater detail, with more “X”s leading to more detailed information.

Also included in the app are stereoscopic 3D animations, control panel, advice on local accommodations, an integrated treasure hunt and two more educative minigames. The treasury shows your collected calendar stones, now GameCenter achievements. The app truly provides a TimeTour, a remarkable comparative view and understanding of this ancient city; and the countless hours of multimedia production and programming have created an iOS tour guide app that is visually impressive, educational, practical, and fun.

TimeTours App is universal, running on iPhone, iPod and iPad. In version 1.1 the design and user interface was streamlined and new features were added:

Red Hot Chili Peppers Release 10th Studio Album

After a five year break, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are back with a new studio album. I’m With You is the follow up to the band’s 2006 multi-platinum album, Stadium Arcadium, and it is the first album the band has released without guitarist John Frusciante in 15-years.

Josh Klinghoffer, who has worked with Beck and Gnarles Barkley, steps in for the long-time and often troubled Fruciante on the new album. Klinghoffer has a few opportunities to shine on I’m With You, but the album relies more on the rhythm section of Flea and Chad Smith, and the stylistic vocals of Anthony Kiedis.

Here’s the first music video from I’m With You, for the song “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie.”

Daryl Hannah Arrested At Keystone XL Pipeline Protest

Actress Daryl Hannah has joined the over 500 people who have been arrested since August 20 for a sit-in protest outside the White House.

The "Splash" and "Wall Street" star was one of nearly 100 people who were arrested on Tuesday for protesting the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, according to a press release from Rainforest Action Network.

The Associated Press reports that Hannah sat by the White House sidewalk and refused to move under orders from U.S. Park Police.

According to Financial Post, Hannah shouted, “No to the Keystone pipeline” as she was being handcuffed.

The planned pipeline will run from the Canadian tar sands in Alberta to refineries on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. It is currently waiting on approval from the White House.

Calif. man accused of throwing son off cruise boat

A California man was arrested for investigation of throwing his crying 7-year-old son into the water from a sightseeing cruise boat during an argument that shocked other passengers, authorities said Monday.

Sloane Briles, 35, was taken into custody for child endangerment and resisting arrest, Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said.

"The father hit him several times and then threatened to throw him overboard if he didn't stop crying," Amormino said. "The crowd on the boat became very angry at the father for hitting the kid and extremely angry when he threw him overboard."

Authorities said Briles appeared to have been drinking. He was released Monday and couldn't immediately be reached at a number listed for him in Irvine.

Briles, his girlfriend and two sons from a previous marriage went on the Sunday afternoon cruise around Newport Harbor on a boat carrying 85 people. Briles began arguing with his girlfriend and his 7-year-old son, Amormino said, adding the child was not an expert swimmer.

Staff members on the tour boat said Briles told the boy he needed to toughen up then threw him into the water five feet below, said Charlie Maas, who oversees the tour company.

"Right in the middle of a sunny weekend afternoon in August there is a lot of boat traffic out there," Maas said. "That could have been fatally dangerous."

The incident happened so quickly that Maas said there was little time to react. Someone on the boat threw the boy a life ring, and he was rescued by another boater. The father also jumped in to save him.

Both the boy and his brother were returned to the care of their mother, who also could not be reached for comment. The couple was married in 2002 and separated in 2006 after having two children. They divorced in 2007.

Family court filings showed Briles lost his job in the mortgage industry in 2007 and got another job, but was injured and drew workers compensation. He successfully petitioned to get his child support obligation reduced and tried for a second reduction, which his ex-wife, Christin, opposed.

"If he truly wanted to support his boys he would find a job," she wrote in the filing. She also wrote that Briles sees the boys only on his weekends and rarely calls them during his off weeks.

Briles pleaded guilty in In February 2009 to being in contempt for not paying child support and was sentenced to three years of probation, according to court records.

The 90-minute tour on a 42-foot boat called "Queen," operated by the Fun Zone Boat Co., goes past Shirley Temple's childhood home and the homes of John Wayne and other celebrities.

Dancing with the Stars 2011 Season 13 Cast Revealed – Video

The new Dancing with the Stars cast was revealed during the Bachelor Pad tonight!

Here they are:

Ricki Lake
Ron Artest
Kristin Cavallari
Chynna Phillips
David Arquette
Carson Kressley
Nancy Grace
J.R. Martinez
Hope Solo
Rob Kardashian
Elisabetta Canalis
Chaz Bono

The spoilers were mostly correct! Only Ryan O’Neal was wrong — but Carson Kressley who “replaced” him on the list, wasn’t present. Was there a last minute change? Hmmm. /end-conspiracy

I love this cast! Right now I like: Nancy, Ricki, Chaz, Hope, Ron, Carson, Chynna, Kristin — that’s like most of the cast. LOL This is going to be another great season of Dancing with the Stars. Can’t wait for the partnerships to be announced.

My only “disappointment” is that ABC has decidedly gone for the older demographic here. I guess the going-for-the-younger-audience-for-ratings experiment is over. I’m sure the show will still get huge audience numbers though, just not the young adults.

Jonah Hill Weight Loss Before and After Photos

Some people had heard about Jonah Hill and his weight loss before tonight’s VMA’s but if you didn’t, you were likely very shocked to see an extremely slimmed down Hill giving out the first award of the night.

The dialogue between Jonah and Nicki Minaj (who presented the award which Britney Spears won for Best Pop Video) was directed towards Jonah’s weight loss. He basically said that, since he lost all the weight, people on Twitter and Facebook are saying he isn’t as funny anymore.

It’s really a shame if that’s the case, considering Jonah looks way healthier and much happier since he dropped the pounds. Personally – especially after his intro dialogue with Nicki – he’s just as funny, if not funnier than he was before.

Hopefully, Hill’s weight loss won’t prevent him from securing major roles because he’s incredibly talented and many of us would love to see more of him.

Take a look at the before and after photos above and let me know if you liked Jonah better before or after!

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Nine people, including two children and a surfer, were dead, and millions of people were in the dark Saturday night as Hurricane Irene bore down on the Virginia coast and drenched mid-Atlantic states.

Forecasters and authorities warned that the storm's run north to New England could be catastrophic. The National Hurricane Center said Delaware Bay, the Jersey shore, New York Harbor and Long Island Sound faced strong storm surges

In Norfolk, Va., officials reported a storm surge Saturday evening of just over 8 feet at the downtown flood gate, about the same size as a surge from Hurricane Isabel eight years ago.

Hampton Roads saw 9 inches of rain, but 16 inches reportedly fell to the west on Route 460, Gov. Bob McDonnell said.

Hurricane forces widespread air, train Cancellations

AIR TRAVEL
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced Friday night that five airports -- John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, Newark Liberty, Teterboro and Stewart -- would be closed as of noon Saturday to all arriving international and domestic flights.
"The five airports will remain open for departing flights pending further updates," the agency said, adding that the decision to halt arrivals is being done "to avoid stranding passengers at its airports when the region's mass transit systems suspend service."
Thousands of flights have been canceled because of the advancing storm.
Major airlines -- including US Airways, American, United, Continental, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest and AirTran -- dropped ticket-change fees for passengers scheduled to fly to or from many cities along the East Coast this weekend and early next week.
By Friday night, United and Continental airlines had canceled 2,300 flights for Saturday and Sunday, the carriers said in a joint statement.
The two airlines -- which merged last year -- will halt their operations Saturday at Newark Liberty, Kennedy and LaGuardia airports and will likewise suspend regional service via United Express, Continental Express and Continental Connection to and from these locales.
